1. Build people up while addressing real problems
Youtopia exists to help people turn positive intent into constructive action. Members may disagree, question a plan, identify harm, or criticize an idea. Do so in a way that leaves room for another person to participate, learn, and respond.
Negativity intended to humiliate, silence, intimidate, exhaust, or derail others is not constructive participation. Repeated discouraging behavior may be moderated even when each individual message appears minor on its own.
2. Treat people with dignity
Do not harass, threaten, insult, demean, shame, stalk, sexually harass, retaliate against, or organize abuse toward another person. Personal attacks are prohibited, including attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status, health, or another protected or deeply personal characteristic.
Do not publish another person’s private information, impersonate them, manipulate media to misrepresent them, or encourage unwanted contact. Credible threats and information that creates an immediate safety risk may be removed and referred to appropriate authorities.
3. Keep Causes honest and useful
Describe a Cause, Action, request, event, result, role, and organizer authority accurately. Do not fabricate impact, misuse another organization’s identity, conceal a material conflict of interest, or collect money, credentials, signatures, or personal information through deceptive means.
Cause Creators and authorized administrators are responsible for using their permissions only for the Cause. They may set participation expectations that fit the work, but those expectations cannot override these Guidelines or deny members access to Youtopia reporting channels.
4. Share content you have a right to share
Post only content you created, are authorized to use, or may lawfully share. Respect privacy, copyright, trademarks, confidential information, and the audience selected for a post or message. Do not copy private messages or restricted Cause material into public spaces without permission, except when reasonably necessary to report abuse or comply with law.
Do not upload malware, exploit code, dangerous files, graphic exploitation, nonconsensual intimate imagery, or material that facilitates serious wrongdoing. Content involving children is subject to especially strict safety review and must never sexualize, exploit, identify, or endanger a child.
5. No spam, manipulation, or abusive promotion
Do not create deceptive accounts, automate engagement without authorization, buy or coordinate fake support, repeatedly post irrelevant promotions, scrape member information, manipulate Cause progress, or use Youtopia for unsolicited commercial outreach. Political and civic discussion is permitted when it follows these Guidelines; coordinated deception and interference are not.
6. Report problems without escalating them
Use the available reporting or feedback tools when content, conduct, an account, or a Cause may violate these Guidelines. Include the relevant page and a concise explanation. Do not retaliate against a reporter, pressure others to withdraw a report, or submit knowingly false or repetitive reports.
Youtopia is not an emergency service. Contact local emergency services when someone may be in immediate danger. If a situation involves self-harm or crisis, contact an appropriate crisis resource in your location and avoid making promises of confidentiality you cannot keep.
7. How enforcement works
Youtopia may reduce distribution, remove content, restrict a feature, remove a Cause role, suspend an account, or permanently remove an account when reasonably necessary to protect members or the service. Decisions may consider severity, context, credible evidence, prior conduct, intent, impact, cooperation, and the risk of recurrence.
Not every uncomfortable interaction violates these Guidelines, and enforcement is not based solely on whether an opinion is popular. Where appropriate, we may explain a decision and provide a way to request review. We may preserve limited evidence when needed for safety, legal compliance, appeals, fraud prevention, or audit integrity.
8. These Guidelines will evolve
We may update these Guidelines as Youtopia’s features, community, and safety obligations change. The current version and effective date will be shown during account creation and when renewed acceptance is required. The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy provide additional rules about accounts, content, information, and enforcement.
